You'll struggle getting any sizable wheels on a type 44 avant. the rear arches are extreemly restrictive, so the widest you can go is about 7.5 i think.
I lowered my type 44 200q Avant with a supersport kit from
http://www.potn.co.uk/ they seem pretty good, and they were only £225 for four springs and four shocks. After fitting, the wallow reduced considerably. It lowers the car 45mm on the front and 35mm on the back. This is the lowest the back will go with standard arches. I like the nose down stance the kit gives the car too.
