I believe some 200s were fitted with Bose active speakers systems.

Popping speakers on bass thuds could just be poor connections if it only happens at the front end of the thud, bass energy vibrates things loose over time... I'm a bass player and I regularly have to resolder output capacitors on my bass amp thanks to the bass frequencies breaking the solder joints.

If it sounds like a rattle or grating rather than a pop, it's likely to be delaminated voice coils on the speaker and means replacing them.

If you like the bass end to be felt, do it with a proper sub-bass unit rather than forcing the stock full-range speakers to reproduce bass. Bass energy can kill full-range speakers if you boost the bass EQ, due to excessive voice coil excursion at high volumes. They just can't take the punishment over a sustained period.

Better still, change your exhaust system by replacing the middle mufflers with a straight through pipe and let the 5pot sound out, then you won't want to listen to music
