It's the ABF engine code you need, so either Mk3 Golf GTI 16V or the Seat Ibiza/Cordoba GTIs, they're the same engine.

There's also the 2.0 16V Passat/Corrado engine which is only 136bhp but uses the same height block as the 1.8s. The ABF engine is 15mm taller overall.

Thought about the later versions too, but I would have guessed the transplant from transverse to longtitudinal would be easier with the older engine as per the current version 8 valve already there?
