Oh well, I did say you had nothing to lose... hoovering is best done in conjunction with a stiff bristled brush to dislodge the solidified dust. I've done it countless times to overheating PC cases and PSUs but normally blast them with a compressed airline with a trigger nozzle attached at a local garage, nothing can cling on under that amount of air movement

Have you got it working again and was it just a mobo battery?
