Specs read front plates.
If an obstruction were to happen to the plate, such as leaves or a plastic bag accidentally getting sucked onto it, the cameras cant read the number and a ticket cant be issued.
Its because any non read on the system forces a human to have a look and if he cant read it-ALL of it ( theyre not allowed to trawl the database until they get a match..

) then it gets dumped because theres more fish in the sea....thats the way they work.
If the front plate were to fall off somehow due to loose screws or because youd just hit a big fecking pheasant Emjay

and you had to stop and retrieve it but couldnt refit it before you continued on your journey, itd mean the specs wouldnt have a number plate to read.....however you really should go get it fixed up soon as if you get pulled its only a £30 fine none endorseable.........ahem.
Best to get a tony bliar mask and keep the visors down....makes identification so very much harder.......
