Would agree with the consensus re the plastic door membranes as a serious contender for leaks, but don't rule out the sunroof drain channels - take the roof out & give the surrounds a good clean then try pouring water down the drain channels & just make sure it is draining out where it's supposed to underneath the car before dismantling the door panels. I have previously had soaking wet rear footwells in the Scirocco which were down to the sunroof.
