This might sound like an awful bodge but you might be able to repair the leak with a product called JB WELD. It's a filled two-part epoxy that is both waterproof and petrol / oil proof. I used it to repair the cast inlet manifold that had somehow separated from the cast iron exhaust manifold of my 1937 Morris 8. They are cast togther in one piece but are well known to separate after about 60 years....
I've also used it to fabricate an "in tank" fuel filter for the same car and four or five years on is still good.
