It would have made sense if they took car's that were MOT failures and potentially dangerous, but that wasn't the case, it had to be roadworthy which is crazy... I'm guessing the UR was super rusty and the owner knew someone in the trade to get a dodgy MOT from but the A5 is baffling as they were fairly new back then, perhaps it was super high mileage with an engine ready to crap it's pants. God knows.
