Quite possibly one of the least 'green' government schemes even devised... Let's scrap perfectly good vehicles and force people in a new car that will loose 30% of it's value in one year.

I'm sure it was done to try and stimulate the economy after the the 2008 banking crash and had absolutely nothing no do with the environment.

It pissed me off at the time seeing some of the cars going to waste.

Are the general public really so stupid that they think a new car is born out of thin air? It has to be manufactured, the materials have to be mined or produced often in harmful processes then often shipped halfway around the world all of which use's valuable resources that have already been lost in an older car.
