Quick update on this one, after trying numerous and sometimes dubious ways of cleaning the headliner, I found the thing that worked best were the white sponges.
They’re sometimes called magic erasers or white foam sponges etc. but basically they’re made of melamine foam… I got the idea from the guys who used to deep clean our aircraft, it’s quite remarkable how good these things are, highly recommended!
