Closest thing I've had to someone taking the piss was a guy standing outside my work who yelled out that my car was "only running on five...." he was quickly corrected by the lads in the yard nextdoor
Couple of young lads with seriously quick cars (one being a toyota ute with a beautifully prepared 13B turbo) have asked for a look and ride in the coupe, I told them it was only a 10v FWD and their reply was "so.... its a cool car" - I wont argue there!
