I've heard that 17" tyres are often chaper than 16" for that reason.

I would definitely stay with 15" wheels. It was the factory size for the Ur-quattro and the car looks nicely balanced with them. Also a guy I know replaced the factory Ur Ronals with 17" wheels that were much heavier and he said the handling was not as good after changing the wheels. I have 195/55-15 tyres on my CQ and the speedo is exactly accurate with them on (compared to GPS). The footprint is the same as the factory 195/60-14 and the rolling diameter is very slightly larger but still well within tolerance. 205/50-15 and 195/50-15 are slightly smaller than factory rolling diameter, making the car slightly lower-geared - still OK though. The 195/55-15s are perfect and I'll definitely stay with that size.
