Steering wheel swap.
Whilst it might seem quite straight forward, the standard wheel has an integral boss, whilst the Audi accessories and after market wheels tend to come with a separate boss.
I had the Italvalanti Indianapolis Audi sport wheel, boss and cover separately.
First job was to get the original wheel off.
With the centre horn pad section removed the main 24mm nut is exposed.
Once unscrewed the wheel pulls straight off.
On the new wheel the boss needs to be screwed to the column cover, on the Italvalanti Indianapolis the boss is secured by three Allen key headed bolts.
Once fitted the boss looks like this.
The next thing is to secure the horn pad wiring from this.
To this
Tuck in the wiring and then fix the three Allen keyed bolts at the front.
Then finally attach the 4 small screws that hold the centre section of the wheel…
And
Done. Just check the horn works and the indicators self cancel.
