K Star was brilliant for those with modded engines but is unfortunately no longer available. Getting the fuelling right without it is why you'll struggle to get over 190bhp with addition of a Schrick cam (don't use any other make)

and tweaks to the ign advance are worth making though again its a mechanical change (GTi Eng used to fit a modified distributor for this reason on there 2.5's)
