The battery works fine, as i can still 'ARM & DIS-ARM' the alarm/immobilizer.

The key doesn't turn the lock in the drivers door.

it never has since i bought the car. I'm guessing someone has replaced the mechanism that opens the door, but forgot to swap the key barrels over.

Youll likely have either an obstruction of some kind preventing the actuator from locking the door or an air leak to that actuator so it dosent get full vacuum pressure.
Could be something as silly as a pipe off or split, or possibly trapped.

The passenger door lock has never centrally locked either, I know this uses a 'pneumatic' type system.. so i'm guessing its a hose issue or something.
however, i'm 90 % sure that the drivers side on these cars uses an electric motor. as you can usually hear it swiftly lock and unlock. (or you could before it broke) So now its just silent, and does nothing.

On my GT however, its broken in a different way. the vacuum works on the passenger door, but you can here the motor in the drivers side spinning away to its self but not being able to lock the door.
