Sounds like a bit of wear on your hinges. What I did with mine was slacken off the nuts slightly that attach the boot lid to the hinges and realign. You might need a new boot seal though if its been like that for a long time as it will compressed over the years and if you realign the hinges you may end up with. Gap between the seal and the boot kid.
