The Blaupunkt does look good there

Your old (new!

) one shows the new stereo problem perfectly; who thought that having a super-chrome front panel with enough LEDs to rival the Blackpool illuminations was a good idea?!!
I have found a modern stereo that isn't so 'bling' though. When I had the Avant's roof-lining out I thought it was a good opportunity to change over to a digital radio; put the new aerial in as I
never want to have to take the roof board out again! Anyway I did a bit of digging and found a this one:

Apart from is being reasonably priced (less than alot of analogue stereos) it's got an 80's look to it

A matt-black faceplate with orange illumination; it looks quite similar to the Blaupunkt actually. Here's a shot if it installed; I haven't got one of it lit up unfortunately and can't take one at the mo; the dash is in bits as I'm re-wiring the headlights & replacing the heater matrix (and yes, it definately
is too cold to be outside doing that!)
As well as doing digital & analogue radio it does cd, mp3, can read from a usb stick or take an input from an ipod or similar ... I went for the base model so it doesn't have the 'making a brew' feature though!
Also now it's in it's mostly tuned to Absolute Radio 80's or 90's
