I want some real snow instead of this minor frosting stuff.
When i was running the GTway back in the late 80's, we had about a foot of it the one year, well, at that time, the Merry Hell Shopping centre carparks ( especially the waterfront ones) were wide open.
Yep you guessed it.
50 mph sideways flicking from opposite lock in an fwd car is i can confirm an absolute riot, but its got a serious side to it ( should be in the driving test too) it allows you to get used to car thats "on the edge" and gets you used to the sensation of sideways slides, under and oversteer.
Must have looked spectacular too.
Not long after plods turn up but their astra's either arent any good in snow or their drivers arent and they got stranded up there.
Same day i went to bridgnorth at some speed too, its funny watching peoples faces as they crawl along and totally disbelieving you can go "that fast" on such a slippy surface.
When i got the celica gt4 i practiced doing doughnuts in the snow on the local trading estate- god its weird when it gets going cos it spins around the centreline axis of the car and is nothing like a rear driver trying to do the same.
Security wallah turns up in his ickkle van and tries to block us in, obviously thinking that the snow being so deep at the other end- "nah he wont get out there"....wrong! 4wd is a wonderful thing, his face was a picture and we drove right past him.
I love driving in snow...can you tell?
