I have a B3 80q which I used as a daily for over three years, great fun to drive. One front bottom ball joint and a wishbone bush is all that it needed in that time, which was due to the huge mounds of tarmac Stockport council have spread across nearly every road at 10 mtr intervals with equally sized craters in between.
My 20v is also much fun to drive but as others have said, the smiles come above 4k revs.
If it's Lotuscortinas car and was in a dark colour and nearer to me, it would be mine now.
