Don't forget though the extra petrol does not ignite in the cylinders it just goes straight down the outlet valve. Then the combination of a red hot ( most of the time anyway ) stainless exhaust and no centre box ( flame trap ) does the rest. I suppose you could argue that the petrol could wash oil out of the bores but you'd have issues there then anyway!! Myself and Simmo get some fantastic detonations and flames out the rear, all makes for the ambience.
