Well you could go the 1.6TD route as fitted to B3 anyway.
Or 1.9TDI as per B4
Or 2.5TDI from C4
£200 - Just random figures I picked out of the air.
Remember all of the wiring too if picking a later TDI with all the immobiliser etc.
