Only thing why this is still interesting is low amount of old audis left on british roads + price for such conversation in UK would be astronomical. But in latvia it's now common - 2.5 10v TDI are being stuffed into B2's, B3's [coupes, A90, both fwd and quattro], B4 [but less common, since B4 got 1.9 TDI], C3 A100, A200 both fwd and quattro, and also in C4 that originally got petrol engine - I, for example, know one UrS6, which now can be called "Audi A6 2.5 TDI quattro avant", since it's not S6 anymore

And there is two reasons for this - ppls who doesn't calculate total costs or ppls, who buys stolen [usually employee sells fuel saved on he's work vehicle] diesel, so there is economy [current diesel prices in latvia, I presume, is somewhere around 75-80 santims per litre, stolen diesel usually goes around 45 santims per litre, 1 pound = 80 santims for comparision]. I actually hate to see this. Some time ago I dreamed about such engine for my A90q, but not anymore - since I would use petrol stations as with A80, economy from consumption differences between 2.5 TDI and NG would be enough low that I could say "I'm not that rich to use old diesel engine". And after all, audi isn't any crap car, so it must have proper engine, not tractor engine.
Ah, one more difference between UK and latvia - in latvia only rare AAT have still 115 bhp and rare AEL have 140 bph, usually there is at least performance chip installed, but some goes further. I know one person, one year younger than me, who has A200q with 2.5 TDI, probably now somewhere around 200 bhp and at least 400 nm, but I think that's old news. Some time ago he planned to install VNT turbo and for this ECU from newer model 1.9 TDI, so probably he now has more power. And he's not the only one like that.
