I expect it's going to get a transplant 2.2turbo would be OK.
Didn't know Competitions were 16v - drove one here in the UK back in 1992 -ish. I was looking for a 2.8 and a dealer had a 16vquattro. Didn't buy it and if Competions were all 16v we should be grateful they were not imported into the UK !
I eventually found a 2.8 ....uuumm
