Ohhh..I like this option, sound like a sensible option over rubber pipes! I am guessing i will need to source a pipe flaring tool, otherwise this sounds too straight forward.

Well who knows, I have fuel pipe and clamps. But not matter how tight I tighten then clamps, the pressure blows off the pipe work & I get fuel spraying out from under the car.

I did exactly that, took the bottom of the dashboard off at lunch time & identified the problem as a snapped clutch cable. Local parts company don't have anything in stock, so part order on eBay :)
