Ours is fibreglass, I fitted it about 20 years...

Ours is fibreglass, I fitted it about 20 years ago. Not been an issue. Replaced the cables early this year. Still cleans up okay, still white, still bang my head on it...:shake:

Ironically, the one in the Rallycar looks different and is foam padded and wedged in the same as the reservoir.

Chances are, it is the actual contacts on the column stalk. Give it a blast with electrolub, but long term, it'll need a dismantle and spruce up.
