Oil temp sensor location

The "bar graph" temperature indicator on my cq is indicating zero, the engine has been out and back in, I suspect (hope) the sensor has not been reconnected but I can't find the sensor.
Where is it?

I know somebody will know the answer, so here goes!
On the Alpine white coupe, should the plastic vent just above the rear wheels be white, I saw one with black vents and it looked ok.
