The complete clutch was replaced at the same time, seeing as the gearbox was out.
Total cost of materials and labour...

There's often been a clunk when I engage first or reverse gear when the engine's hot, but nothing any worse than my previous two Audis....

Thanks very much, CW, that's a potential spares issue sorted out! I now know it's a straight 2.0 90 hp. No need to decode the VIN anymore.
