I've got an early flat spoiler going if you want it. In good nick. Gear linkage you'll only get from Audi. For a complete set you'll be looking upwards of £60.

My resto thread page 4 will give you some idea as to whats involved. It's pretty easy tbh

do you have a picture of the spoiler by any chance mate?

will have a look at the linkage asap as its a bit of a job to get into 5th gear at the moment

here's a couple before I cleaned it up. Got it off ebay when I wanted a replacement then sod's law a black raised one turned up so I went for that option instead.

So this one fits low/flat to the boot

do you know if this would cover over the holes which are already present on the boot?

good question. The spolier runs the full boot width so should cover the holes left by the current spoiler you have (you would have to fill them). However this has different mounting points so you would either need to mark ot and drill new holes or if the car originally had this type of spoiler fitted (which I suspect it might have done given it's age) then you may just need to locate the original holes and redrill them.

For your linkage, pull the center console out and check the nylon ball that the shifter pivots on... Mine was well knackered - split and fallen out of the "cup" that it sits in :wall:

The ball is two halves with a spring in the middle that pushes the halves apart to hold them in the cup and compensate for wear, until it wears so thin it shatters...

I got sick of hunting a unit down and had a ball made up from a nolathane suspension bush

Spin it up on a lathe and take the ends down, smother it in grease and put it back in - takes a few months to loosen up to that "just right" point, but the whole exercise cost me $10

I have a linkage spare and if its the raised type spoiler I have one as well (well have a couple lol)
