audi coupe gt5 distributor / hall sensor

Anyone know where i can get a distributor or a hall sensor for my 1981 audicoupe gt5
It has the 1921 wn engine
Ive tried a few sites on t'internet but nothing for this model.
Does anyone know anyone who repairs them?
cheers Dave

I think youll be ok to use the hall sensor off any of the 5 cylinder eqipped models and swap it over as long as its a TCI system.
You can likely use the same hall sender off the vw golf gti models too.

Hi, sorry for being a bit thick but whats a TCI system  Ive been told that as long as its off a 5 cylinder it should be ok.
Ive been offered a distributor off a later coupe, do you think i could use the hall sensor from this or even swap the whole lot?
really want to get this sorted as its taken me so long to trace the problem, its really frustrating that i now know what the problem is but cant get the bits! (the joys of owning a classic i suppose! )

The whole distributor may well fit and youll need to ensure the drive pinions are the same but those can also be swapped if needs be.
Dont forget that the GT5S has an advance/retard type vacuum capsule that needs to be retained.
TCi =Transistorized Coil Ignition....fancy way to say has no points and is all electronic switching... :)

Might be worth asking if hes still got the distributor you never know.
