Insurance Companies Prices ! ?

I think its safe to say we all hate insurance, but its there for a reason and we accept that.

Insurnce these days is bumped up by all the little oiks who don't pay then cause carnage by hitting other people who have got it, we don't like it but we begrudgingly accept that too.

What i can't get over though is how they come up with their prices???

I've just done a quote online with my current insurer, for a car i'm looking to buy in Jan. The quote is okish, about what I expected give or take but I've had a play around with it to see where I can maybe save some cash.

Keeping the car on the drive instead of kerbside saved about £30
Adding my other half saved another £35-40(despite her picking up 3 points since last renewal time)

All good so far you say...

Add a tracker to the factory alarm/immobiliser...adds £76???
Move the car from the drive into the garage and it adds £85????? :yikes:

So by securing the car better and making it easier to recover should the worst happen my insurance co. will thank me by relieving me of an additional £160! :wall:

slight drift but I've just insured the lancia with classicline insurance. They were 1/2 the price of the company that i use for the quattro and wern't disturbed by modifications etc

Just checked their website, may be worth a call after Chrimbo cheers

I must admit I'm lazy when it comes to insurance be it car/house whatever, so long as its a reputable company and the price is somewhere near I go for it.
Gonna spend a bit more time on this one this time, I'm in no rush until late Jan probably so no excuse not to gather a few quotes!

Well done to City by the way Stu, looking forward to seeing that on MOTD later.

listened to it on talksport and it was a bit dull to be honest. Your front 4 seemed a bit "out of sorts" like they been in trouble for something ;).
I'd be happy for Spurs to finish top 4 as long as City are top 3 :moon:

I've not seen/heard anything on the spurs game other than the result to be fair but at the minute winning games on the bounce is all i can hope for.

I think like City if we can sort the consistancy out we'll be up there come May time....unlike Mark Hughes :moon:
