1985 Audi 80 Exhause Clamp/Clip
Hi,
What I am after is another one of those annyoing lttle parts that are becoming hard to find! I need an exhaust clip/clamp.... Its the one that keeps the tailpipe rigid and in place, its the one that is held on by two rubber pieces at the back of the car, without it the exhaust has a tendancy to rattle... and I fear it may drop and cause damage to it. I have a diagram and part number that I will post when I get home. I had a hard time explaining to Audi what I needed, but I know you guys understand Audis more than them anyway! I have ordered one but he didnt seem to think he could get it, and ive just had a missed call from them at Uni so I presume he cant. Its only half broken (luckily) at the moment, and I have been able to protect whats left by use of cable ties, but I'd just rather get it sorted properley. I will post the diagram later, to show exactly what I need. Any help would be most appreciated.... Kind Regards, Simon |
Here goes the diagram, and the part I need is:-

Still havent heard from Audi so I presume they cant get me one, been nearly two weeks now. How much inc. postage and a beer for yourself? Sie! |
I'll phone them tomorrow, and it may arrive on Wednesday. I'll get a price then, but I htink it is less than £10.
Mine snapped when I tried to undo the bolt, I guess yours is the same? I put up with some jubilee clips for a while, but thought I'd spend the money and do it properly. PM me your address. When you get it, send back the money in stamps, they always come in useful. Cheers Steve |

The previous owner of my 80 splashed out on a full stainless steel Audi exhaust, and I really feared it was the middle box that was just wearing out, but VERY luckily I went to my parents house the next day and found it was actually rattling from side to side and it was just this clip that has worn away. Guess those bumpy country roads didnt help, but im just really glad its a simple clamp and not a costly exhaust, botched it with cable ties (Only half the clip has broken off), but much like yourself I dont want it like that and would rather have it done properley. Stamps.... Postage stamps? Not a problem, and thankyou! Sie! Ps. I shall PM my address! |

And you have a good Christmas... Had much snow over your way? |
I just checked on line (to find the part number for the motor factors) and found these two links, which you might want to try before I order it:
£6.99 http://exhaustpartsuk.com/index.php?...roducts_id=209 £1.04 http://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/Pr...hicleID=145801 Do you want to try one of those, before I wander across to the motor factors, either today lunch, or tomorrow lunch? |
