kv fuel pump wiring?

fitting a new fuel pump and theres two wires; brown and green/yellow- which goes where on the new pump? the two connections are different sizes on the new pump and both are marked with +/- , also the old wiring needs trimmed and new connecters fixed. so does the brown go to the bigger terminal or vice versa:confused:

no battery at the moment!

Micky 21-11-09 05:14 PM

did you notice whitch way round when you took it off ?

stoop44rio 21-11-09 05:21 PM

old pump has different connections and they weren't marked+/-. new pump comes with new terminals so the old wiring has to be cut back and new ends crimped on. aren't brown wires usually earth on cars??

Micky 21-11-09 05:24 PM

carn't you get a batt and just turn on the ign you dont have to start it

prob will have to do that, just thought someone might know abit more than myself!! which wouldnt be that hard

Wire colors are of existing wiring harness? If so then brown is ground, as always and that other is +12v. If u will connect them wrong, then pump will only pump on wrong way and engine will not work :D

As MSH suggests, brown is ground ( - ) .

:confused:brown being earth would go to the smaller terminal and positive to the sligthly larger terminal?
