After a ball joint falling out a few months ago on my '88 WR (passenger side) a shock ended up bent so temporarily the we put alot of negative camber on the front passenger wheel (adjusted by the bottom ball joint). A few weeks ago I got round to changing the front suspension with Boge oil (was gas before) shocks and replaced the springs (H&R -35)
for some reason this made the front end seriously low!
I'm planning on putting a new set of koni gas shocks on teh car when it gets back to the UK but for now the passenger side scrapes the outer wall of the tyre like hell! although the driver side is fine.
I cant understand this as i thought with all the negative camber the passenger side was less likely to scrape.
Does anyone know of a way I can stop the tyre scraping for now (just for the drive back to UK)?

When I first got my 80 the nr side rear arch fouled the tyre. I had some minor rust repaired on the rear wheel arches and at the same time had the lips rolled.
This is common practice at the body shop I use as he specialises in modded VAG cars.
If the arches are in good condition he charges £50 a corner.
No reason why you wouldn't be able to get this done in Norway if you have a few contacts.

ill have a little look into it but im leaving ere on wednesday so might not get the chance. Gonna try and build up some coilovers over xmas the just sit it as low as possible without scraping, its strange why its gone so low on the front now, it should only be -35 but the sump scrapes on speedbumps.
Need to work on both front arches anyway as a balljoint fell out and threw the wheel into the back of the arch and looks as though the same has happened on her on the other side with the previous owner. I like the rolling idea though, cheers:tup:

Will do, but it is a wheel off job cos they look no different from the outside.

thats just what i wanted to hear acctually, cause i need mine doing, as my 16inch borbet A's scrub on the rear. :( but if i have the arches rolled i don't want it to be too noticeable.

I'm not sure what can be done about the fronts, but they haven't been too bad since i removed the top screw that holds on to the inner plastic shied.

Wish i'd taken them out sooner, cause the screw one the one side was at a funny angle and has really dug in to the tire :(
