found the paint code for my 4000/80 but just need to know what colour it is
the code LA3A

i've had a look on that list and it's not on there,but i found on another site it is Mars Red #2
i also had a quick look under the car and i looks very soild just some surface rust

talking about this with someone the other week as they did 2 shades of mars red!
But cannot remember who or why now? Think it may have been about a Mk1 Golf??

the site i found it on says audi only used LA3A from 1980-81

Is yours an 81 or 82? or late 81 registered in 82 or is it an '80 or '81 but only got registered in the UK when it was first imported which is why it is on a Y plate and not W or X?
The manufacture date maybe a bit before the first registration date if it was imported years ago as they registered cars differently then.

looking at my chassis number the car was built between july82-august83

If ever in doubt, paint it satin black and get a hood ride stencil on it!:rock:
