few bits
Replaced the front suspension over the weekend as i had a bent shock, wasnt sure what suspension it had and nearly criedwhen i saw they were boge turbo gas pressurized jobbies. Anyway changed them for boge oil dampers temporarily and also replaced the springs whilst i was there, old ones were H&R -35 as the replacements are but now the front end of the car has lowered like another 40mm!! any ideas why??
also brake master cylinder arrives tomorrow so want to change the fluid, is there a special way to bleed the brakes? im not familiar with this system, also want to change the power steering fluid. what power steering fluid shouls i use? and same for brake fluid? thanks in advance Andy |
How did the top mounts look ? they could be responsible for a bit of a drop.
|
i used the same top mounts, really cant get my head around this, could it be something to do with changing from gas to oil?
|
Part numbers correct? IIRC the front shocks are different length to rears.... that or worn top mounts like Darren says.
|
all 4 shocks looked to be the same lenght but i didnt actually measure them, I'll get the part numbers in the week. If it drives ok though I'm tempted to leave them until I get back to UK then go for spax gas shocks and koni/H&R springs. but the ride height was higher with the boge turbo's using the same top mounts, does that mean they're ok? But maybe the old springs weren't lowered like i was told and its dropped, once it's back on all 4 wheels I'll take some pics and post them up to see what people think.
cheers |
