Lol you got the filter on the right way round then? :)

cant become airlocked as the pump will force fuel around the system.
Likely youve disturbed the wiring plugs to the pump perhaps?

One thing to try,is the fuel pump relay???????
On one of mine,it would start, run for 20 minutes and then cut out.I thought it was dirt in the tank(or clogged, fuel filter),because after leaving it for about 10 minutes,it would start(1st time)again.I thought, it could be the dirt settling back down.
I changed both fuel filters,to find(in the end) it was a faulty fuel pump relay.

changed the relay last week also. wheres the second fuel filter? done the one at the pump/ accumulator

it's only the early cars (pre 86) that had the pre-filter.

A non starter on the KV can only be one of two things. spark and fuel. Unless the timing has gone miles out but unlikely in this case

Are you getting spark ?

Are you getting fuel through ?

only got the car going yesterday!! i've been too busy with work and the house so it sat for at least a month maybe more. turned out to be the cold start valve was flooding the engine so now dis-connected and shes starting fine:rock: only thing is its sounding very tappety which it wasnt before- maybe from lying up for a month or two?

BIGGYIN 27-10-09 07:24 AM

On my 2nd to last car, they,d done that.(disconnected wire)It started and ran fine to me,without it connected.Maybe for really cold starts?
Noisey tappets. As you said, not run for a bit.
Mine get a little noisey, when i need to top up oil.
