ABS Sensor Caps

Just a quickie, 1985 WR, Ur quattro, the little ABS Sensor caps - can someone confirm the part number -

I've got 437 927 809 - Cap - qty 4 - But the diagram is pretty vague.

Many thanks

Ian

Thanks Jay, I need to get some ordered tomorrow then... Half way to sorting the Ur's ABS fault, after some soldering and Volt meter testing I've got the old girl working up to the point where it only fails it's rotational test sequence above 50mph and drops the ABS... My first guess is a sensor output inbalance caused by the gapping. (they've been out a couple of times over the last year)... So I'll pull the sensors and re-gap them, see where it takes me.

Well, what a result!

Our old girl's been buggering about with the ABS for about 2 years now, sometimes okay, other times failing. Cobbled through the MOT last year, but since then, it'd just persistently stopped working, and responding to me tinkering with it for that matter. Did all the voltage tests, relay tests and basically came to the conclusion the toothed cogs on the hubs were caked up... So come this years MOT, I never even tried, put the old girl in the garage and thought I'd worry about it another day.

Bit the bullet yesterday and, armed with 4 pathetic little caps, pulled all 4 ABS sensors, cleaned them up again and re-gapped them...

And.... Bugger me, the faults cured, ABS working fine now and all for the sum of £7.76.

I'd gone into 'Doom and Despondency' with it, thinking it was a £500+ fault...

So goes to show...

Thanks to Jay, and John Johnson for their guidance too...

Next step, book the MOT....

And hopefully the old girl will be polished up and down to Castle Combe on the 10th!
