TSR Modified Coupe

Reg. 1/4/87 176,350 miles & 6 former keepers. I spent a lot of money on this car to make the most of the TSR C pack that had been fitted to it. Cost £2500 & has done about 30k since. Produces around 180BHP & although has mild cam, really starts to fly after 4000. I put a set of Spax –40mm springs & struts on it (£234). Only done about 2000 miles since then. Discs/Pads/Calipers also changed. Engine seems fine, but running Synta 10/40 & Slick 50 it does run low oil pressure at tick over after a blast, but as soon as any revs applied it comes up to 3Bar. Powerflow Stainless Steel system – cost £350. Has muffler fitted as too loud without. 3rd gear synchro is weak & does bulk sometimes up & down the box. Body is rot free, but not rust free & has a number of scabs & dents. It would not much to put it back on the road – last on road March 2008 - but it is never going to be a great car body-wise; so probably best to transplant the good mechanicals onto something more deserving. That was my plan, but no time. The engine would be better in a quattro! Rad missing at the mo., but I would put one in & would probably be able to find a battery to get you home, or onto a transporter. It’s in my line up of cars, but if someone is genuinely interested then I’ll get it dug out & put it up on a ramp to check underside. I did this a few months back & essentially it was sound. Looking for £375, but offers considered. |
