Tyre choices

Just thinking that as the tyres on the coupe don't really look the prettiest things in the world I might change them for some decent rubber.

Anyone got any recommendations at all?

Was thinking of these as I've had good experiences with T1-S's on a Mk2 G60 in the past and they're cheap, cheap delivered:

Or P6000's as they're probably closer to OE:

Anyone care to venture their thoughts/experiences?

Cheers,
Nick

Nick....I've got Firestones on mine. I am pretty certain that these were what Audi fitted as original. Not that they're the original tyres lol but I think when my Dad had the car he had the same tyres fitted when renewed. I will dig out the paperwork later on and let you know, if I have the reciepts

P6000s are sh1te. Vredestein are brilliant. What size?

I've just put Vredestein HiTrac on my 80CL, 14" rims. Very grippy.

And put Vredestein Sportrac 2s on the Audi 100 quattro in 205/60R15.

I used to have Goodyear Eagle F1s on the Mk2 Golf, in 185/60R14, a size which is no longer available in F1s. Brilliant tyres though.

That's P6000's off the list then!

Had Vredestein Sportrac 2's on my Saab T16S and rated them highly.

The Coupe has 185/60 14's too so no dice there...

The Firestone's Baggee mentions, if OE, look a potential and are damned cheap!

Not sure if they are still available or if there is an alternative now. Let me know how you get on.

Well there's a 590, a 700, an FZ200 and an SZ80.

I guess 690's are off the menu today!

Cheers for the heads up fella. Might look outside OE as am hearing positive stuff about both Vredestein and Toyo... Best performance today and all that?

I was going to say the same thing. You wouldn't stick Michelin MXVs on nowadays would you? Or Goodyear Grand Prix S.

Tyres evolve and manufacturers fit a wide range of tyres as OE, depends who's doing the best deal that year.

Vredestein... all the way.

Also got Vredestein Comtracs on the T4 Caravelle...

And here:

Vredestein make brilliant push bike tyres too. Fortezza Tri Comp or something in 700Cx23.
