Electrical gremlins strike again

As I decided not to trawl down to Wales today I decided that it was still going to be an Audi day. So into the garage, radio on it was time to sort out some niggly jobs.

Decided that I would fix the non-working electric windows so the dash came out once again. Traced all the cabling back and found an in line fuse which I wasn't aware of previously. Checked the fuse - blown. 1 replacement later and the windows are now working again. As are the reversing lights.

Also fitted a new set of VDO clocks and wired in some new wiring. So now my 3 VDO's have lights too. Hooray.

Ran some new wiring in for the radio and secured it down. Nice tight fit. Yaba Daba Do

Took off the cover from the speedo binnacle to see what needed to be done to fit lights to illuminate the dashboard as Audi intended. Bad move  I now have no dipped headlights :wall:

Side lights - fine, Main beam - great, all four lights light up like a christmas tree.

Dipped Beam? sweet fanny adams. Fuse checked ok, tried new switch but whatever the outcome, no lights. Checked the lamps with a multimeter, no problems but there is no electrical juice getting to the bulbs. :wall:

Consequently I could do with some advice if anyone has any inkling whats taking place.

The only thing I can suggest and this is from a complete plank when it comes to electrics, is that if it worked before you started messing, then I can only assume that you've knocked a wire out somewhere along the way.
