Gelbus tackles Lake District run and tour on 183k:-)

Hello luvs!

Now,I know that kind of mileage,183k,isnt a lot for a 2.6 V6 lump, but Im still really proud that a car of this mere 15 yr vintage is as trustworthy as a new car for me.

Here ist ze Gelb (called Gelb as her colour is Vanillegelb just to remind you!) on tour.Warning, pics are not to Simmo/Coxy/everyone but mine standards.

So,we left at 1.30 am to get to Scotch Egg Corner for sunrise. We cruised up at about 60-70 mph.
Arrived at Peaks at sunrise, this footage is only on cam, upload at a later date.
Got to Portinscale,Cumbria for 5.20 am

Coxy always said take the next shot against a grey background.Maybe he said ghey background given the colour!! Will this slag heap do Al??

Needless to say,we needed sleep when we got into our B&B at 10am.
The next and only digicam shots were at tea time.
Fish and chips with this as our view was awesome.Hadnt been up Kirkstone Pass (and Im not talking in rhyming slang!) since I had my 200hp chipped Volvo 480 Turbo on Koni.It wasnt the same drive, but the effortless muscle of the V6 was a different experience altogether.A steady climb then, until we reached the Pass and munched!

The only sound was of running streams and Barney in the back there barking his fookin head off at the sheep! Bastid!!

Anyway,650ish miles on £80 of fuel and nice to get her out of the poxy Fens!!!

Hey Groomus, glad you and Sal made it there and back safely after wishing you Bon Voyage late on Sat'day night. Looks like you had fun but that's a big doggy looking cat you got on the back seat :yikes::yikes::yikes:

Thx man!

Yeah old Barneyballs (hes an old boy with saggy balls hence) is a chunker.Got a beak like Barry Manilow and a bark like a St Bernard!

Went really well Mart, and even though she has one shagged subframe mount on one side and a shaggeder engine mount on the other, shemade it well.
