tyres for quattro

Hi,

When I got my 100 quattro it had Pirelli P6000s on the front and some crap budgets on the back. The steering wheel was offset to the left by 1 spline too.

I changed the rear tyres for some Vredestein Sportracs (good grippy tyres) so the rear is now grippier than the front (which means the rear end doesn't fishtail putting the power down out of roundabouts).

However, when I was testing the ABS last night, the car didn't brake in a straight line, it would go both ways then stop. I don't know if this is because the front tyres are skidding, the and rears are gripping???

I really should get all 4 tyres that match I suppose (£112/pair).

However, what is wierd is that since the new rear tyres were fitted, the steering wheel no longer needs straightening!!! How can this be? Did the old budget tyres affect the car's steering??

Cheers,

Steve
