Relay part number
I'm missing relay j114-the oil controller relay
I can't find the part number for it so can't look it up on eBay Does anyone know the part number please? Thanks |
Relay part number
Is it 443919082 ? I thought mine was a five pin part with two black/blue wires not 6 wires.

It seems "919082" is the relay, and 857 or 443 relates to which car. Are they interchangeable? Anyone tried? I may have one of the 443's
I expect the car will run fine without it, but anyone have a spare please? |
Can anyone confirm that thw MB buzzer is for the oil pressure, or is it in case you leave the radio or parking lights on when you open the door?
Thanks! (I think the later relays can be used in an MB, but I'm curious about the buzzer as the old relay does not have a specific output for it, while it seems the newer ones do. I could add a buzzer in to the circuit if it doesn't already have one! |
I used to get an audible warning if I left the lights or radio on when I had my MB

Thanks for that. Didn't get a chance to do any more today and won't for a couple of weeks.
Also have another project that I should get finished before coming back to the ur. Looking forward to getting everything ship-shape but life getting in the way until April. Cheers! |
Making progress...
I've poked around the wiring diagrams and worked out how to connect a later oil control relay to the MB loom. Also found out why just plugging it in doesn't work! Anyone else needed to do this so I can run my process past you first?? Or have a source of the 5 pin j114 controllers so I don't need to do it? Pending more time to fit it properly I'll fix the warning light to the sensor so at least I have one warning. |
Relay part number
So today I connected a lead between pin 2 and pin 6 in my missing J114 coil controller slot (in the Aux relay panel)and got my low oil pressure warning light working.
This just shows when you drop below 0.3 bar but at least it's something. To connect the later 6 pin j114 relay found in lots of more recent vw/audi cars, I'll need a t piece, a 1.8 bar pressure switch and will run two wires to the relay aux socket one from the new sensor and one from the alternator b+ terminal (the small one that the alternator warning light is connected to). Connect them up to the aux relay socket in the right slots and plug in a "new" oil controller 6 pin relay ..result is the standard oil pressure warning light will light up at less than 0.3 bar, or the light will shine and the buzzer will sound at less than 1.8 bar with the engine running. Then the later, easily available 6 pin relays will work in the aux relay board. If you just plug a later 6 pin relay in, the wiring to the sensors etc is wrong, and you get a permanent warning no matter what the oil pressure is doing. |
Just to confirm that I added the t-piece, oil pressure sensor and new wiring, and the “new” relay works fine. So i can get a new relay from practically any VW/Audi if I need a new one.
