Hi Guys.
Any way of lowering the tick over ? Its between 1100 and 1200.
NG engine code 2.3e 5 cylinder . In the haynes manual it says it cant be adjusted ....

Don't know NG but KV can be adjusted either by a screw into throttle body or a screw and lock nut that tightens the throttle cable.....I would be really surprised if you could not do it at all?!

Wouldn't this setup use an Idle stabilisation valve?

If so...Probably shaped like a cylinder a few inches long by an inch or so in diameter, roughly.
They can get a bit gummed up over time, requiring a light clean, or more seriously a fault internally, maybe requiring a light replacement.
There have been a couple of threads on a similar vein recently.

How long has it been like this?

At idle, the throttle should have no load on the cable at all, and shouldn't be pulling on the throttle plate.

Is that a measured 1100-1200 rpm or are you using the tacho inside the car. They often over read and are not that accurate

Hi Guys.
Went to put in new injectors today , But all the injector sleeves came out also.
Ive ordered new O rings from Germany :wall: as you cant get them over here any more.
My next question is how the hell do you remove the injectors out of the sleeves ?
Ive tried pulling them out but they aint going anywhere.

Well presuming plastic shrouds not brass but if the injectors are out of the car it's easier, you'll have to stick the hex bit of the injector in a vice and carefully lever the shrouds off, applying even pressure with an open ended spanner or the like with lots of lube, they do pop off eventually.

Hi pastit,

When i did mine only one shroud came out, the O ring had dried up in it and stuck like glue.
I removed the injector from it by spraying penetrating oil in the shroud, left it a couple of hours, and then got the injector to turn in the shroud. Once it was turning it came out easily.

I removed the other shrouds to give them a good clean anyway, don't forget to seat them properly when you put them back in, a bit of lube will help them just CLICK back in place.
