V6 or 2ltr?

Hi everone.
I looked at a couple of cabbys yesterday near me in St.Neots and Peterborough as seen on
Auto Trader. A V6 all leather last owner 12 years. The other 1.8 half leather various
receipts. both similar milage, both electric roof.
Car will be taxed for 6 months of the year. i know the tax is a bit higher but what are the pitfalls.
The question is what would you go for and why?
Thanks. Alan.

2.6 has more character and low down grunt, but is prone to oil leaks. I would argue the 2.6 will be more fun and the MPG for both will be similar.

Also like the sound of last owner 12 years and full leather. The half leather interior in the 1.8 isn't all that desirable.

I like the sound of 12 years ownership as well. V6 is smoooooth and refined.

If you buy the 2.6 you won't regret it,it's such a superbly smooth operator and packs a nice punch.
Journalists back in the day coined them as smooth as a turbine and they were not wrong.

V6  is almost inaudible when cruising with a muted growl when booted.

Thanks for the good advice, which i have taken and am now the new owner of
a V6 cabby. 112,000 miles good roof ,new exhaust, plush leather, all bells and whistles.
Test drive all good (hell its quick). MOT july 17. £2,500.
Looking forward to the new year now.
