drivers door lock not working with the key phob :(

a couple of days ago the drivers door lock stopped working when i press the alarm button on the key phob. :(

any idea whats most likely gone wrong?

I suppose i need to take a look, but can't be arsed in this weather.

I just hope it simply needs a new motor maybe? I just hope it isn't the alarm it self that has c@cked up. :(

Anyone else had this problem? I guessing all this cold weather has done something to it.

I presume this is the pneumatic type locking system?

Youll likely have either an obstruction of some kind preventing the actuator from locking the door or an air leak to that actuator so it dosent get full vacuum pressure.
Could be something as silly as a pipe off or split, or possibly trapped.

Could even be its iced up perhaps?

The coupes never had remote locking so it will be an aftermarket fitment could be as simple as the rod has come of connecting the actuator to the door locking mech. only way to know is to take the trim off and have a look . I take it the cetral locking works if you use the key ?

if its the key fob it could be the battery in it ,does it lock with the key ?

The battery works fine, as i can still 'ARM & DIS-ARM' the alarm/immobilizer.

The key doesn't turn the lock in the drivers door. :wall: it never has since i bought the car. I'm guessing someone has replaced the mechanism that opens the door, but forgot to swap the key barrels over. :wierdo: :hmmm:

The passenger door lock has never centrally locked either, I know this uses a 'pneumatic' type system.. so i'm guessing its a hose issue or something.

however, i'm 90 % sure that the drivers side on these cars uses an electric motor. as you can usually hear it swiftly lock and unlock. (or you could before it broke) So now its just silent, and does nothing. :(

On my GT however, its broken in a different way. the vacuum works on the passenger door, but you can here the motor in the drivers side spinning away to its self but not being able to lock the door. :(

that's normal for the passenger door.

The central locking only enables from the driver's door
