Freedom of speech.
Bedwetters, leftists, vocal minorities, climate change activists and the perpetually offended, all groups who seek to impose their world views on everyone else no matter how negatively it might impact those others who dont share such ideologies.
There used to be a time when speech and ideas could be freely espoused, discussions of every subject were wide open for consideration, but not anymore. Free speech is no longer free, it comes with a set of rules imposed by the aforementioned groups and entered into law by obsequious politicians and law makers, enforced rigidly by a police force that has become utterly politicized to serve the needs of the state not the public, keen to be seen and accepted as one of the gang, part of a club of right on ne'er do wells with authoritarian motivations, aspirations and appetites for control, power and money, freedom of speech can go hang when it comes to the individual who wont conform to their new paradigm, no the individual has to be silenced, isolated and finally crushed and dominated because theres only one view-theirs and its absolutely closed to any kind of questioning or discussion, we are the borg, you will be assimilated, you will serve us. Yes, you too can now squeal hysterically like a stuck pig that someone is phobic, racist, or any other kind of ist, start an online petition and generate an extreme outpouring of pious moral indigination to have the british police then spring into action who will then "take very seriously" any allegation of words spoken that have offended the fragile sensitivities of some member of the twitter illiterati or facebook fundamentalists who have no tolerance for the truth or difference of opinion. Welcome to Crybaby Culture where freedom of speech is a dirty word. |
Superbly put! I wish I could express myself with such eloquence.
Agree 100%. |
Has this been brought about by the furore surrounding new heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury's recent comments 4v6?
|
Quote:
Tyson furys comments are simply his own opinions, quite why a section of society think he should suffer any kind of punishment for simply expressing what he thinks is repellent to me, its not as though hes stated gays should be harmed, which if he did would be wrong, they would still however be his opinions and should be challenged in the form of discussion, not suffer police investigations and prosecutions. We are after all talking about words here, not actions. In the new Crybaby Culture you have the freedom to say and think what they tell you to. |
I'm a straight white male and proud of it.
That'll piss some people off but... I am white (by birth), straight (married 26 years) and proud of myself... Political correctness have already taken it's toll on Scandinavia... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...rican-art.html http://swedenreport.org/2015/02/09/s...history-books/ http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2014/...tle-in-sweden/ Oh yeah... Facebook deleted this image off one of my posts the other day... I loved playing Minesweeper back in the days... http://img.ifcdn.com/images/12e102d7...37c204a0_1.jpg |
I agree with you in principal 4v6, but are you saying that all free speech should be allowed, no matter what they say? What about those that preach hatred and encourage violence?

Free speech is great.
Some people just need to keep their out dated and bizarre opinions to themselves though. Making homosexuality a crime, woman are only good for cooking, cleaning and shagging? The bloke is a tool. Just my opinion. Funnily enough his hero is Muhammad Ali.... |

I blame Facebook, MSN and Twitter. AND I blame "the parents" for not spending enough time with their kids and teaching them respect and dicipline (no hitting!) and to respect other peoples property. |
