Done 90,000 miles, how much should I pay?

how much is being asked? whats the service history? have you seen/heard it running?

They would all have a bearing in my opinion. Whatever the situation you have the cash the seller wants to get their hands on so don't give it up easily :tup:

Apparently its done 94k, no docs though, to be honest with you Emjay its still in the car which has been in a old gararge for a year and hasnt been started, so god knows. The car has a few bits worth saving, ie lights wheels and bits of trim that I need for Poop. The guy said last time it was started had a mis-fire and only thought that 4 out of the 5 were working,but this could be injectors or something easy to rectify. The car is only a few miles away from me and I wasthinking of breaking her? What do you reckon????

Without history or service documents and it ifs not a healthy running engine or a starter then £100 will be optimistic for engine... I'd offer £50 for the full engine with ancillaries and see what they say.. As a full car again its not worth a great deal but anything over £250 isnt going to be cost effective breaking it.

I'm with Puglife, play mean and offer £50 for the whole lot and break it yourself if you have room and time to do it.

Question;If he scraps it properly would he be charged?

I haven't scrapped a car for years but was under the impression that these days you paid the dealer to scrap it for you. In my day they paid you due to the value of scrap. So to take it off his hands and break it yourself might be doing the seller a favour

I weighed in 3 cars last year and made £560 on the weight (they had scrap engine blocks and full of scrap steel etc). But Scrap Metal prices have plummetted again and so now a scrap car in weight is worth no more than £80... thats a full car with CATs as well....
