Audi 80 quattro 1984 - go on you love it!

NOT MINE.

Audi 80 quattro, 5 pot. Presumably the 2144KK engine everyone raves about.

And, the first time I have EVER seen big bumpers on an 80, rather than a 90.

MoT'd too, January 2010.

Go on, buy it!

was looking at that on Sunday after Kully mentioned it.
The 90 bumpers look like they don't even fit right on the front.

Looks really wrong with the 90 bumpers and lights on it IMHO.
Keep it pure?

Ideal basis for a shorty or even S1 recreation.

Best not show Rob.

wouldve been a nice base for a project if it hadnt of been for the poxy glass sunroof

Tarka 20-01-09 11:47 AM

Buy it, recommission it - job done. Somebody save it though otherwise there will be even less of these!

The probable reason the bumpers don't fit right is that that grill and lights are flat fronted rather than the later slanted grill and lights. You can see the metal trim cover on the bumper is in the wrong place. Have seen a CGT with flat front lights and slanted grill and that looked very odd indeed.

But as you say better with the original bumpers, also has a golf steering wheel?

Them bumpers truly don't fit well at all!! Question is what they hidding?? could be a nice moto for someone

kully 20-01-09 07:07 PM

Proberbly a back end shunt, or rot, but check out the silicone sealer holding the rear bumper to the rear panel.
I wouldnt even bother to look at it

That guy in Germany that supplies all the Shorty parts, KER-Invotech? does a carbon-fibre roof panel.

We looked at one when we did ours but bought a complete 1800carb Coupe (no sunroof) for cheaper.
