Amanda, sorry to be stupid, what does that involve and who could do it?

in the long run m8, its best to replace the rad and then thats one less thing to go wrong

Hi Gab,

Question, the rad has a slight leak, when Im on a A road or on motorway my temp is constantley in the middle at 90 degrees, if I sit in traffic for about 5 mins she starts getting really hot. Im not loosing any water? Any ideas??

Dose the fan cut in? poss thermostat fault try flushing coolant system

poopcoupe 13-01-09 03:32 PM

yes the fan cuts in but seems to make no difference to the temp. As soon as I get moving again the temp drops to Normal?

ok i seen this in ireland back in the 80s on hannu mikkola quattro thay put eggs in to seal the rad also where you got the wires going to the fan dis connect it and apply silver paper old kit kat wrapper across the two termials then push the connect back onto the switch this will make the fan come on contently i did this to a old rover 45 when i was up mid wales repping several years ago it worked for 1 week uptill i got the fan and rad fixed property
